All The Things

WOW. Last weekend was pretty much a mess around here at the House of Hale. Too many things happening all at once. Wednesday, Kevin’ step mom broke her foot at work. Thursday my cousin was rushed in for an emergency c-section to deliver her twin boys. Friday and Saturday I was away from home volunteering for a fundraiser the gym throws every year. Sunday was really my only day to recover, but I didn’t even get to do that because Kevin and Nora are sick with a cold/sinus infection. Like I said… ALL THE THINGS. SO…. needless to say I was a bit preoccupied to be blogging.

Mom in law is doing okay. In a pretty decent amount of pain, and hopped up on pain meds but so far so good. Things seem to be healing okay and from what I can tell it was a clean break with out any major complications. My cousin and her absolutely ADORABLE little twins are all happy, healthy and at home with out any additional scares.

Erm… the fundraiser was a huge success we exceeded the goal by $2000, and everything went off with out a hitch. It was actually pretty fun to watch people competing by doing things I do all the time. lol. Instead of just watching by proxy knowing how much work went into the competition, I was able to think to myself: DAMN THAT SUCKS. I can’t believe you did that! It was a little hectic since there were a million people everywhere, but I’m excited for next year. Hopefully I’ll be able to actually compete. I don’t ever want to compete on a professional level, but I think it would be fun to do things like fundraisers and whatnot. Just because it gives me more of an actual goal to work towards.

Uh… OH! It was also my birthday on Friday. Kevin made me a sweet handmade card, but that’s all we really had time for with everything else going on. I knew when I volunteered that the fundraiser was going to be on my birthday so I didn’t really plan or expect to do anything. That plus all of our big bills come out the first week of the month and money is always tight. It upset me the first few years Kevin and I were together, but it is what it is. I kind of wanted to do something Sunday but with the two of them feeling under the weather we really didn’t get a chance.

I think we’re going to the zoo next weekend for Father’s Day, so perhaps I can sneak a trip to the mall in there and do a double celebration of sorts. It also happened to be my Bloggiversary this past weekend! Four years, give or take a few months here and there. I’ve decided to head in a new direction this year, as is probably obvious to all those who’ve been following for a while. Anywhoo…. I’ve been awake since 4am and I’m pretty tired. I’m going to go attempt to nap for a while. Until later Bloggies. 🙂
