Argh… that basically describes how I’m feeling today. The weekend was relaxing, and I had a decent nights sleep. Started having some wacky dreams the past few days, but nothing worth noting here. Just random off the wall things. lol.

Today I woke up ready to go. I had a decent breakfast, and headed off to the gym actually awake instead of dragging myself in half asleep. I was excited about the work out today. It was light weights, and easy movements that we do all the time. The rep count wasn’t super high, and I was full of energy. UNTIL I actually arrived at the gym and discovered that it was like 90 degrees of stale sweaty air. Not only was it hot, but it was incredibly humid. Warmed up, got all my equipment set up and ready to go. Started out at a good pace, flew through the first few movements until I hit a figurative wall. I couldn’t breathe, got light headed and had to slow down. Which isn’t entirely unusual after blazing through so much work, but instead of my normal twenty or thirty second recovery I could NOT catch my breath. Buckets of sweat were pouring off of me, and I felt my blood pressure rising. So… after the first round I scaled back on a few things in an effort to finish all of the reps before the end of class. I started scaling two movements. Still couldn’t catch my breath or cool down, even guzzling buckets of water and trying to move my way into the path of the fan. By the time the third round rolled around I had scaled every single movement, but it was too late. I hit the time cap for the workout and had to put everything away.

Not going to lie, I was PISSED. Granted, I can’t control the temperature, or how my body reacts to it, and even if I had kept pushing myself instead of slowing down all it would have gotten me was a heart attack or heat stroke and a trip to the hospital. I did what I needed to do, but nothing irritates me more than not being able to finish a WOD. Especially now that I’ve been doing it long enough, and my times have been (up until today) been getting better. I did get a PR on my box jumps today which is encouraging. I can now jump over two feet in the air, land, and keep right on going if necessary. lol. Hopefully I never have to jump over two feet while running anywhere for any reason, but I CAN if I have to. So I mean the WOD wasn’t all bad. And I kept right on going, although mega slowly, even though I could barely breathe. I would have finished if we hadn’t had a time cap, but being so early in the morning people have to go to work. I kind of want to go back later and finish it, but the heat is only going to get worse at the day goes on. I don’t know…. I still might. It’s going to bother me if I don’t. lol.

On top of that, I was in such a hurry to get out of the gym and cool off outside that I completely forgot my glasses. Forgive me if there are a bunch of misspelled or dyslexic words today. I can’t really see, and just typing from muscle memory. lol. It’s all a blur to me XD. That was an exciting drive home let me tell you. I can see shapes, and I drive the three miles it takes to get back and forth across town multiple times a day every day so I know the speed limits and such. It was still kind of scary driving in a bunch of blurry blobs. Anyway… I’m going to go eat something, and throw the laundry in the dryer. Until later Bloggies. 🙂
