Champion of the Underdog

My Little joined me at the box this morning. Kevin’s work schedule changed, and we had both cars working for a split second so I didn’t have to change my workout schedule. Of course the van crapped out on me as soon as we pulled into the driveway, BUT we made it there and back safely so I can’t complain too much. Not sure what we’re going to do the rest of the week but I guess we’ll figure something out.

I really need to start bringing Nora with me anyway so she can get some social interaction. She is already awkward because she’s the child of two socially awkward people, I don’t need to make it worse keeping her sheltered. lol. ANYWAY… she was one of the younger toddlers in the daycare today. There were a few infants, Nora, and then the older kids. One of the infants is only a few months younger than her. Not quite walking yet, but very mobile. She became his best friend today. The older kids were playing with some toy cars, and Nora’s little buddy wanted to join in. Of course the older kids wouldn’t let him, and kept taking the toys away. Nora being able to chase after the big kids, dashed after them, snuck a few toy cars and immediately returned them to her smaller friend. It was ADORABLE. I watched her do this a few times through the window before I went in to gather up her things.

My Little. Champion of the Underdogs. <3<3<3 I was SO proud of her. She’s just like her mama. That was my mission in life as a young child. To make sure everyone was included and toys were shared fairly. I always befriended the odd balls, or the outcasts, and never let anyone get bullied or pushed around. Of course standing up for people definitely didn’t win me any popularity contests, but I didn’t care. I knew that I was doing the right thing. My Little is following in my footsteps. I’m overjoyed at her big heart, kind spirit, and independence yet a little sad knowing the social struggles she’s going to encounter when she gets older and into the very socially structured world. *sigh* We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, I’m going to bask in her adorableness and beam with pride. lol.

Until later Bloggies. 🙂
