Money Matters

Whoo! I finally got out budget sorted out. All of the money is going where it needs to go to pay the bills and we have some left over. TOP SCORE. As long as our bank keeps it’s grubby little hands out of things with fees we’ll make it through the winter with a substantial savings stored up for our trip in March. Of course that’s not including Holidays or anything, but I think I’m going to take the easy way out and hand make gifts this year. lol. Nora will be old enough to help me so it will be cute and special.

Speaking of Holidays… We are having the first annual House of Hale Thanksgiving this year!! Like we’re staying home, cooking a meal for ourselves and hopefully visiting with family and friends IN OUR OWN HOME. We’ve always had to run around to five different places for Thanksgiving, and this year I want to start our own traditions. I mean we’ll still probably get out and visit people, but the main event will be here at home base. I’m so excited!!!

I can’t wait to fix my very first Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings while Nora and Kevin watch TV. lol. I’m a little old fashioned that way, but hey. I enjoy it. Due to our strict budgeting though I have to start shopping for Thanksgiving in October. lol. Well probably not if it’s just going to be the three of us, but meh.

I don’t think we’re going to do anything for Halloween again this year. Unless Kevin can get the night off. Nora’s really too young to understand what’s happening anyway, and I don’t feel like carting her around the neighborhood, even though she does have an absolutely ADORABLE little Batgirl costume. She will be dressed in her costume, and there will be a million pictures, but I don’t think we’re going to go out of our way for any Trick or Treating. I never went as a kid, so really it’s not such a big deal for me. Kevin really wants to go, so if he can get the day off I’m not going to deny him his fun. lol.

I don’t have a problem with it, it’s just something that I never did so I guess I don’t have that allure of fond childhood memories… I don’t know. I’m just not that into it.

Anyway… we’ve had the windows open enjoying the nice cool fall air recently and my allergies have flared up like a B. I took some Zyrtec, which has always helped before with out issue, but for some reason it has made me insanely groggy this go around. I think I’m going to go take a nap. Until later Bloggies. 🙂
