Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! (I say this as if Friday MEANS something to me with no work schedule lol) My plans for the weekend include hiding in my home office writing and editing. Followed by editing and writing. Then possibly some more writing, and editing. lol. I probably SHOULD be painting the living room and finishing the tile in the entry way before Nora’s birthday party… which may get added to my schedule depending on what Kevin wants to do this weekend. He was supposed to go hunting, but since Bro in Law has to work he canceled those plans.

lol. Last night when we went to visit Kevin for lunch (which is actually at 7pm since he works second shift) Nora was sitting in her car seat babbling to herself when out of the blue completely clear she asked: “Dada at work?” It was amazing to hear her put together her first sort of sentence. I answered that yes we were going to see Daddy at work, and she replied: “Dada wor *raspberry*.” Which translates to: “I don’t like when Daddy is at work.” lol.

I know I’ve said this before, but I just can’t wait until she can communicate with more than a few words and sounds. She is one of the most thoughtful infants I have ever seen and being privileged to hear what is working through her little mind is going to be my most exciting gift aside from her actual birth. lol. She’s also starting to “sing” along with the music we listen to in the car or while I’m cleaning the house… which means I’m going to have to change my playlist. lol.

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with the band Disturbed, but they have a very distinct vocal growl thing in most of their songs. One of the songs shuffled through my play list and out of the back seat I hear Nora: “AH ah ah!!” mimicking the vocals as best as she could. lol. It was adorable, and kind of scary at the same time since most of the lyrics aren’t really fit for little ears. Looks like I’m going to have to invest in some headphones or really learn to love nursery rhymes one.

And Nora just snatched my phone and took off down the hallway. I better go get it back. lol. Until later Bloggies! 🙂

  1. Wait’ll she gets older and starts naming the songs after the words she understands (or thinks she does). For my son, Smells Like Teen Spirit was the mashed potato song b/c he thought the chorus was “Mashed potatoes, MASHED POTATOES!” Or Soul Asylum’s “Without a Trace” became the tree song (I guess because “leave without a trace” he thought was “leaves without a tree.”
