It’s The Little Things

Bloggies, I am celebrating the fact that I just found some new epic desktop publishing software. lol. Since my complete conversion back to Apple I hadn’t been able to write and publish from my desktop, which meant that I absolutely HAD to have an internet connection to write things down for future posts, thus leaving me all: "OH! That would be an awesome post! But lo, I don’t have the interwebs!!" and giving me an incredible case of writers block when and if I ever got to sit down and post. With my new found amazingness I can also take the billion posts floating around in my head and schedule them out so I don’t flood your news feed with randomness! Yes, I know we’re all excited about that, especially since I tend to get a bit post happy some days. lol.

In other news, Nora has decided that she no longer wants to sleep at night in the dark. She has a nightlight, but for some reason it’s just not cutting it this week. Last night was the worst mostly because Kevin is working first shift for a while and he needs his sleep. When our Little is screaming at the top of her lungs because she doesn’t WANT to sleep it creates a bit of a problem. I did everything I could think of to get her to sleep last night. We nursed, we had cereal, we had gas drops, we had Orajel, we played, we snuggled, and even though she would start to nod off as soon as I put her in her crib and turned off the light she was wide awake screaming. Eventually I loaded her crib up with toys, snuck out of the room while she was distracted and left the light on until she wore herself out. When she got very quiet I went back in to check on her, and thankfully she was FINALLY asleep. This was at like 3am. I turned off the light so she could actually rest, and retreated to my own bed. Kevin was already at work by 3am so it was just me. lol.

About two hours later I was jolted awake by a very angry baby kicking the wall and screaming. She was MAD at me for tricking her into going to sleep. lol. We snuggled for a little while, and then all was well. She wanted to go back to her bed, and rolled over asleep like it was no big deal. lol. I’m hoping that it was just a fluke and not a new trend because I don’t particularly want to be up until 3am every morning with a fussy babe. I mean it’s not like I truely have a schedule or anything important, but still. I do try to maintain a normal life schedule. Up during the day, asleep at night thing anyway. lol. She did kind of have a long nap yesterday, so today I’m keeping her awake. She gets her normal two hour nap, but beyond that no sleep until bedime. lol. It’s worth a shot anyway. If it doesn’t work tonight I guess I’ll just have to get used to being a creature of the night again.

Anyway, it’s lunch time, and the Little is restless. Until later Bloggies! 🙂
