Like a Fish

It was a little chilly yesterday but Nora and I went to the pool anyway. It was her first “swimming” experience and she loved it! The sun was in her eyes so you can’t tell how much fun she was having in the pictures, but she was having a blast. lol. She didn’t quite know what to do with the water at first since the only time she’s been wet since birth is for baths, but once she realized that this wet adventure was soap free she started splashing, laughing, and kicking like it was her job. Her giant feet might come in handy after all. lol.

I’m debating about looking into the infant swimming “lessons” at the local YMCA. It depends on how much they are really. Especially since she won’t actually be able to learn to swim for a few years. If it’s not outrageous we might go take a swim once a week.

Oh, also, I lathered her up with sunscreen and my Little TANNED. She has a wonderful healthy color about her now. lol. She must have gotten those genes from her Daddy because I certainly don’t tan. Ever, even a little. I just get a smattering of freckles all over the place. We weren’t out that long either. Maybe an hour? And half of that time she was wrapped up in her towel on my lap. lol.

In other news, I might have found a home for the dog!! I contacted every one under the sun trying to find him a home and everyone gave me the same answer: He needs to be put down. I was literally an hour away from taking him somewhere when my mom called. She contacted the place where I did my 4H service projects (which I had completely forgotten about) and they said they are willing to review his stats and probably take him!! It’s called Circle Tail and is somewhere in Central Ohio. lol. I didn’t drive there the last time I went to volunteer so I don’t remember exactly where it is, but they take in working breeds, and train them as service dogs! Not only is the dog getting a potential new home, but he’s getting a JOB lol. AND HE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE PUT TO SLEEP!!! Which makes my life a whole lot easier. 🙂

The house is still a wreck but it’s improving. I cleaned up the living room and hallway yesterday so it isn’t like living in a dump anymore. It’s still not finished, but it’s somewhat resembling clean and until we can find a way to make more hours in the day I can live with it. lol.

Anyway Nora is awake so I guess I should get off here and get her breakfast ready. lol Until later Bloggies! 🙂

  1. So glad to hear the good news on the dog. Putting one to sleep for whatever reason is not pleasant, I know. Nora and sunshine do love each other, don’t they?

  2. Lol yep, I need to get her some sunglasses or something. She’s started putting her hands over her eyes when we walk out side. I feel kind of bad actually.

I feel much better about finding a home for Boris. I honestly don’t know that I could have taken him to be put down. I’m glad it’s a decision I don’t have to face.
